Mentoring and Outreach Events:
The Academy runs a regional programme of National Mentoring and Outreach Scheme workshops and events.
These events are designed for all clinical academic trainees including: MBPhD students, Academic Foundation Doctors, Academic Clinical Fellows, Clinical Training Fellows, Clinical Lecturers and Clinician Scientist Fellows.
Agendas include presentations and debates aimed at individuals interested in developing their career in academic medicine, from getting started in academic medicine, making the most of mentoring and being successful at interview, to gaining independence and developing a research team. Specific mentor development workshops are also offered to Academy Fellows, senior academic trainees and other senior academics interested in developing their mentoring skills.
