Academy of Medical Sciences/Medical Research Society Clinical Research Champions

The Academy, in partnership with the Medical Research Society, coordinates the Clinical Research Champions scheme.

The aim of the scheme is to expose medical students and foundation year doctors to inspiring senior clinical academics, to get them excited about research and promote the academic medicine pathway as an attractive career route. Champions are selected from the Academy’s Fellowship of leading medical scientists; their role is to host regional meetings and social events where medical students, trainees and clinical academics will discuss pertinent issues and developments.

It is hoped that the Champions will become recognised figures in the medical research community to whom people will turn for careers information and advice.
