Anatomy

... is the study of the structure of the body.

Traditionally, anatomists used dissection to investigate form and structure but these days they also use the latest techniques in microscopy and molecular biology to study the tissues and cells making up the body (histology).

There are many sub-disciplines, such as neuroanatomy, developmental anatomy (or embryology), and evolutionary (or comparative) anatomy, which includes biological anthropology.
